We exhibited at Comicpalooza 2017 this past weekend! It was our first year attending the event, and we were pleasantly surprised by how great it was! We met tons of fun and interesting people, sold a lot of games, gained a lot of newsletter subscribers, and were constantly entertained by the plethora of high-quality cosplay outfits! Such a great time!
It being our first year, we weren’t sure what to expect. We knew there would be some tabletop events at the show, but we didn’t know how many attendees would be interested in tabletop specifically. Comicpalooza covers a wide-range of geek-culture including everything from tv and movie stars, video games, fantasy and sci-fi authors, specialty clothiers and merchandise, artists and, of course, comics.
In the vendor hall we seemed to be one of only a few tabletop publishers, and perhaps the only one selling family & strategy games, but I think this worked to our benefit. There was a lot of crossover interest to tabletop games and we almost always had at least one person at our booth learning about our games. Some who came by were seasoned gamers with huge tabletop game collections, while others hadn’t played a board game in years. One person even bought a copy of our card game Drop Site and told us it was the first tabletop game they had ever purchased. How cool is that?!
So, overall it was a really positive time and an event we’ll definitely consider attending again in the future. Thank you Comicpalooza and all of you who stopped by our booth for making this past weekend a remarkable one!
